Real monthly cost at 5, 25, 50, 100, and 200 clients

Headline pricing pages hide the cost gap between Everfit and Trainerize because both vendors sell Stripe payments, recipe-based meal planners, and automation or branding as separate line items.

The table below compares monthly billing at five roster sizes across Everfit and Trainerize's base plans (workouts, habits, and basic macro tracking), their full online coaching stacks (workout programming, structured meal plans with recipes, check-in forms and habits, integrated Stripe billing, and in-app logo theming), and Kahunas's tier-gated seat pricing (where workouts, nutrition plans, check-ins, habits, and 0%-commission payments come with all seats, while Recipes and Automations unlock at 25 seats and custom branding unlocks at 200 seats).

Everfit full stack maths: Pro base plan + Payments & Packages ($9/mo starting rate) + Meal Plans & Recipe Books ($39/mo starting rate) + Autoflow ($29/mo for 1–30 active Autoflow clients; $56/mo for 31–60; $110/mo for 91–120; $185/mo for 181–210). At 50, 100, and 200 clients, the lower figure assumes up to 30 new clients pass through onboarding Autoflows each month, while the higher figure assumes your whole roster sits in active Autoflows. Standard logo and colour theming comes with Pro. Without Autoflow, subtract $29 to $185/month ($67, $123, $143, $188, and $268/month).

Trainerize full stack maths: On Pro 5 through Pro 50, totals combine the Pro base plan + Stripe Integrated Payments ($10/mo) + Advanced Nutrition ($20/mo on Pro 5 and Pro 15; $45/mo on Pro 30 to Pro 200), plus the $169 one-time Pro Custom Branded App fee. Adding the $25/mo Business add-on or $10/mo Video Coaching raises Pro totals further. At 100 and 200 clients, Studio Plus ($275/mo for up to 500 clients) bundles all add-ons plus a store-listed Studio branded app, beating Pro 100 + add-ons ($280/mo) and Pro 200 + add-ons ($305/mo).

Kahunas tier-gated seat maths (Disclosure: Kahunas is our product): Billed per seat from $15/month (3-seat minimum), with workouts, 1.5M+ foods, barcode scanning, supplement plans, check-ins, habits, wearables, blood test Labs, menstrual cycle tracking, and 0%-commission Stripe and PayPal billing included across all tiers. Recipes and Automations unlock at 25 seats ($62.50/mo), and white-label logo, colour, and custom domain branding unlocks at 200 seats ($200/mo; coaches with smaller rosters who want full custom branding on day one can select the 200-seat plan for $200/month). Annual billing saves 20% on Kahunas, about 16% on Everfit, and about 10% on Trainerize.

Three pricing crossover points stand out in those numbers:

  1. Workout-only rosters pay less on Everfit across Pro brackets. Compare base Pro plans without add-ons and Everfit undercuts Trainerize at 5 clients ($19 vs $25), 25 clients ($75 on Pro 35 vs $79 on Pro 30), 50 clients ($95 vs $135), 100 clients ($140 vs $225), and 200 clients ($220 vs $250).
  2. Full-stack solo coaches pay less on Trainerize below 50 clients. At 5 clients ($55 vs $96) and 25 clients ($134 vs $152), Trainerize Pro with Stripe and Advanced Nutrition beats Everfit Pro with Payments, Meal Plans, and Autoflow, provided you skip Trainerize's $25/month Business add-on and $169 logo fee.
  3. Past 100 clients, Trainerize caps add-on creep while Everfit Autoflow keeps climbing. Trainerize Studio Plus flattens out at $275/month all-in up to 500 clients. Everfit Studio 200 ($249/mo) plus Payments ($9), Meal Plans ($39), and 200 active Autoflow clients ($185) reaches $482/month ($453/month on Pro 200), and still excludes a standalone App Store listing.

1. Base plans, free tiers, and add-on stacking

Coaches comparing everfit vs trainerize on Reddit complain most about paying twice: once for client seats, and again for everyday coaching tools. Both vendors use tiered client brackets plus modular add-ons, though their brackets fall at different client counts.

Free plans and trials compared

  • Everfit Starter ($0 forever, up to 5 clients): Includes workout building, the exercise video library, custom exercise uploads, body metrics, progress photos, tasks, and direct 1-to-1 chat on iOS and Android. Starter leaves out check-in forms, habit coaching, food journals, custom branding, and paid add-ons. Everfit also offers a 30-day free trial of Pro features with no card required.
  • Trainerize Free ($0 forever, 1 coaching client): Covers one active client with workouts, basic macro tracking, habits, and in-app chat. New accounts start on a 30-day free trial with unlimited clients and no credit card, then revert to the 1-client Free tier at day 30 if you choose not to upgrade. Trainerize excludes paid add-ons from the 30-day trial, so you cannot test Stripe payments or the Smart Meal Planner before paying.

Coaches who want to train three or four paying clients before spending a penny on software get far more room on Everfit's 5-client Starter tier. Read our full Everfit pricing breakdown and Trainerize pricing guide for all intermediate client brackets.

Base plan brackets and trainer seats

Trainerize updated its pricing for renewing coaches from 16 March 2026, so older reviews often quote outdated $20 or $22 starter tiers. Below are the live monthly and annual rates across both platforms:

Watch two seat rules when comparing brackets:

  • Everfit manual plan changes: Everfit's billing help centre notes that subscriptions do not scale up or down on their own with active clients. Passing your tier cap requires a prorated upgrade in your billing settings, and downgrades take effect at renewal once you archive extra clients. Pro and Studio both support team member accounts.
  • Trainerize Coaching vs Basic seats: Trainerize counts only active Coaching clients against your plan cap. Paid plans include Basic client seats (15 on Grow, Pro 5, and Pro 15; unlimited from Pro 30 upward) for contacts who book appointments or buy one-off products without accessing workouts, meal tracking, or chat.

Everfit's Autoflow Money Saver Policy needs careful checking before you launch group cohorts. Everfit bills Autoflow each month based on how many clients participated in at least one active Autoflow over the past month: $29 for 1–30 clients, +$27 per 30 clients from 31–120 ($56 at 31–60, $83 at 61–90, $110 at 91–120), +$25 per 30 from 121–300 ($185 at 181–210, $260 at 271–300), +$21 per 30 from 301–900, and +$18 per 30 above 900. Everfit's Automation Pricing help doc notes that Autoflow usage bills monthly even on annual base plans.

2. Workout builder, automation, and client app experience

Programming speed and client app design separate these two platforms faster than marketing checklists do.

Programming workouts

Everfit gives coaches a keyboard-friendly builder with supersets, circuits, AMRAPs, intervals, timed blocks, %1RM progressions, and custom athletic metrics such as velocity, power, cadence, heart rate, or VO2 max. Its AI Workout Builder turns pasted text or PDF workouts into structured blocks, cutting migration work when moving old spreadsheets across. Coaches training strength athletes, runners, or hybrid performance clients get far more flexibility from Everfit's custom metric columns than from Trainerize's fixed exercise fields (coaches comparing performance tools can also read our CoachRx pricing guide and TrueCoach pricing breakdown).

Trainerize organises workouts around Master Programs and client calendars. You build phased templates once, subscribe a group of clients to a Master Program so the cohort moves in lockstep, or copy a Master Program to customise weights and swaps for 1-to-1 clients. Paid plans from Grow upward include an AI Workout Builder and on-demand workout libraries without an extra add-on, whereas Everfit gates On-Demand Collections behind a $25/month add-on or Studio ($105/month+).

Client app ratings and daily logging

Clients judge your coaching business by how fast they can log sets between rests. Across coach threads on r/personaltraining and app store reviews, Everfit's iOS and Android client app earns praise for clean typography, fast video playback, and support for six languages (English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, and Dutch).

Trainerize packs more tabs into its client app because it also handles studio class bookings, appointment calendars, video calls, and challenge leaderboards. Hybrid studios value that breadth, whereas solo online trainers often report a steeper learning curve and busier menus. Trainerize acknowledged app glitches and stability problems in its July 2024 pricing update and pointed to platform reliability and AI investments again in its March 2026 pricing FAQ.

Wearables and health integrations

  • Everfit syncs Apple Health, Health Connect, Google Fit, Garmin, Fitbit, Oura, WHOOP (recovery, strain, sleep), MyFitnessPal, and Cronometer, and lets clients pick which wearable takes priority per metric.
  • Trainerize syncs Apple Health, Google Health Connect, Garmin, Fitbit, Withings, and MyFitnessPal from Grow upward, and adds MindBody and ABC Glofox studio management integrations on Studio plans ($275/month+). Trainerize lacks native Oura and WHOOP integrations as of November 2026.

3. Nutrition, habits, and check-in workflows

Both platforms cover basic macro goals on their entry paid plans and reserve structured recipe meal planning for their largest monthly add-on.

Base nutrition vs paid meal-plan add-ons

On Everfit Pro, coaches set calorie and macro targets (including separate training-day and rest-day targets), review photo food journals, build basic meal plans, pull macros from MyFitnessPal or Cronometer, and enable MacroSnap so clients scan meal photos, barcodes, and nutrition labels. Automated weekly meal plan generation, check-in auto-regeneration, client meal swaps, and the 500+ dietitian recipe library require the Meal Plans & Recipe Books add-on (from $39/month).

On Trainerize Grow and Pro, clients log meals in-app with barcode scanning or sync MyFitnessPal and Fitbit, while coaches set macro goals, upload PDF meal plans, and review weekly nutrition compliance. Interactive meal plans (up to 7 days in the Smart Meal Planner), client meal swaps, grocery shopping lists, and Trainerize's recipe database require Advanced Nutrition Coaching ($20/month up to 15 clients; $45/month from Pro 30 to Pro 200; included in Studio).

See our nutrition coaching apps comparison if larger verified food databases, supplement plans, or blood biomarker tracking drive your coaching model.

Habits and weekly check-ins

  • Everfit leaves Forms & Questionnaires and Habit Coaching out of the free Starter plan, unlocking both on Pro ($19/month+). Coaches build custom onboarding questionnaires, par-Q waivers, and recurring weekly check-in forms, though automating multi-step onboarding sequences requires Autoflow ($29/month+).
  • Trainerize includes habit coaching with streaks and badges even on its 1-client Free plan, and adds consultation forms, auto-messages, groups, and leaderboard or threshold challenges on Pro ($25/month+) without a separate automation add-on. Neither Everfit nor Trainerize extracts blood test biomarkers or puts last week's check-in answers side by side with wearable averages and a built-in screen recorder on one review screen.

4. Payments and transaction fees

Collecting recurring coaching subscriptions inside either platform requires a paid add-on on Pro plans, and the two vendors handle card processing rules in distinct ways.

Check two fine-print items in each vendor's help centre before moving client billing over:

  1. Everfit's bundled processing rate: Everfit's Processing Fees help article lists a combined US domestic card rate of 3.15% + $0.30 (0.25 percentage points above Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 US rate) and 4.65% + $0.30 on international cards, plus a $15 Dispute Countered Fee (refunded if you win) when Everfit support submits chargeback evidence. On $10,000/month in US domestic card volume, that extra 0.25% adds $25/month on top of the $9/month add-on.
  2. Trainerize's card-only checkout rule: Trainerize's Stripe Integrated Payments help article notes that checkout accepts credit cards and Visa or Mastercard debit cards only, excluding Apple Pay, Google Pay, bank transfers, and Buy Now, Pay Later methods such as Klarna or Affirm. Trainerize supports Stripe accounts across 44 countries versus Everfit's 17 published countries.

5. Custom branding and white-label apps

Branding trips up coaches because Everfit, Trainerize, and web-app platforms use overlapping labels for three distinct delivery models. Read our full white-label fitness app guide for the side-by-side breakdown.

  • In-app theming inside a shared store app: On Everfit Pro ($19/mo+), standard custom branding lets you add a splash screen logo, workout background, email banner, and colour theme inside the Everfit app; Everfit's $75 one-time Advanced Custom Branding add-on adds a selectable icon from Everfit's preset list and a custom welcome video. On Trainerize Pro ($25/mo+), the $169 one-time Pro Custom Branded App puts your logo and colours inside the shared Trainerize app (unavailable on Free or Grow). In both setups, clients search the vendor's app name in the store.
  • Store-listed white-label apps: Trainerize Studio Plus ($275/month) and Studio Max ($380/month) include a Studio Custom Branded App published under your brand name in the Apple App Store and Google Play, with an average 4-week turnaround once you submit your assets. Everfit reserves standalone store-listed white-label apps for custom-quoted Enterprise contracts (requiring at least the Studio 500-client tier, a D-U-N-S number, and proof of business ownership and trademark).

Before building Kahunas 2.0, we published over 10,000 white-label coaching apps to the App Store and Google Play, so we know firsthand where store-listed apps shine and what they cost to run. A dedicated listing in the App Store and Google Play gives your business searchable store presence, strong credibility when prospects look up your brand name, and native OS health integrations. Running your own store listing also asks you to maintain an Apple Developer Program membership ($99/year) and Google Play Console account ($25 one-time), wait on store review for each app update (Trainerize quotes an average four-week turnaround for Studio launch), and route package checkouts to the web whenever you want to avoid 15% to 30% in-app purchase commissions.

That experience led us to build Kahunas as a 3-tap branded coaching web app (PWA): clients open your link (yourbrand.kahunas.app), tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and launch a full-screen app with native iOS and Android push notifications, offline workout and food logging, and direct Stripe or PayPal checkout. Custom logo, hex colours, custom subdomain, verified sender email domain, and bottom-bar menu personalisation unlock together at 200 seats ($200/month monthly, or $160/month billed annually) with $0 in store developer fees.

Choosing between Everfit, Trainerize, and Kahunas

Pick Everfit if:

  • You have 1 to 5 clients and $0 budget, and want a permanent free tier to deliver workouts, track body metrics, and message clients.
  • You coach 20 to 150 strength or athletic performance clients, bill clients outside the app (so you skip Everfit's add-ons), and want custom velocity, heart-rate, or cadence metrics plus WHOOP and Oura syncing.
  • You coach non-English-speaking clients in French, Spanish, German, Italian, or Dutch.

Pick Trainerize if:

  • You run a hybrid studio or gym that needs appointment booking, group class schedules, session packs, native video calls ($10/month add-on), or MindBody and ABC Glofox sync (Studio plans).
  • You manage 100 to 500 active clients and want a store-listed white-label app plus meal planning, payments, and video calls capped at one $275/month Studio Plus bill (plus Apple's $99/year developer fee).
  • You coach 5 to 30 clients, want built-in Stripe checkout in one of Trainerize's 44 supported countries, and prefer built-in challenges and auto-messages without paying per active automation client.

Pick Kahunas if (our product, with honest limits):

Disclosure: Kahunas is our product. Compare further options in our 10 Best Trainerize Alternatives and Best Online Coaching Platforms for Personal Trainers guides.

Kahunas suits online coaches and multi-coach teams who want workouts, nutrition, check-ins, and payments included on one predictable per-seat rate from $15/month (3 seats at $5.00/seat, stepping down to $2.50/seat at 25 seats, $2.00 at 50, $1.50 at 100, $1.00 at 200, and $0.50 at 1,000+, with 20% off on annual billing). Whenever a higher tier costs the same or less than your seat count, Kahunas bills the lower figure and includes the spare seats (for example, 13 to 24 seats pay the $62.50/month 25-seat rate).

All seats from day one include the workout builder (1,700+ videos), nutrition plans (1.5 million+ foods and barcode scanner), supplement plans, side-by-side check-ins, daily swipe habits, wearables, AI blood lab reading, privacy-first cycle tracking, and 0%-commission Stripe and PayPal payments. Growth tiers unlock recipes, automations, and season roadmaps at 25 seats ($62.50/mo); AI Crew assistants, screen recording, exercise video analysis, and team seats at 50 seats ($100/mo); communities, education courses, and cohort challenges at 100 seats ($150/mo); and full branded app and custom domain controls at 200 seats ($200/mo).

Kahunas limitations to weigh before switching:

  • No permanent $0 free plan: Unlike Everfit Starter (5 clients) or Trainerize Free (1 client), Kahunas starts from $15/month after a 14-day free trial, backed by a 3-month money-back guarantee.
  • Tier-gated growth features: Automations and Recipes start at 25 seats ($62.50/mo), Communities, Education, and Challenges start at 100 seats ($150/mo), and custom logo and colour branding starts at 200 seats ($200/mo), though any coach can pick a higher seat tier early to unlock those features on day one.
  • No App Store listing or gym front-desk POS: Kahunas delivers a 3-tap installed web app rather than a native App Store listing, and does not offer turnstile check-ins or brick-and-mortar gym front-desk POS hardware.

Test your own check-in forms, meal plans, and workout builder on a 14-day free trial of Kahunas.

FAQ

Is Everfit cheaper than Trainerize in 2026?

Everfit costs less than Trainerize if you buy the base Pro plan for workout programming alone: $19 vs $25/month at 5 clients, $75 (Pro 35) vs $79 (Pro 30) at 25 clients, $95 vs $135/month at 50 clients, and $140 vs $225/month at 100 clients. Once you add Stripe payments, recipe meal planning, and full-roster Autoflow automation, Trainerize costs less at 5 clients ($55 vs $96/month) and 25 clients ($134 vs $152/month), sits close at 50 clients ($190 vs $172–$199/month), and costs less again at 200 clients via Studio Plus ($275 vs $297–$453/month).

Which has a better free plan, Everfit or Trainerize?

Everfit gives new coaches a larger permanent free tier because Starter covers up to 5 active clients forever at $0, whereas Trainerize's permanent Free plan covers 1 coaching client. Trainerize includes habit coaching on its 1-client Free tier and starts new accounts with a 30-day unlimited-client trial, while Everfit reserves habit tracking, check-in forms, and food journals for paid Pro plans ($19/month+) once its 30-day trial ends.

Do Everfit and Trainerize charge transaction fees on client payments?

Neither vendor takes an extra percentage commission above its card processing rates, though both charge a monthly add-on on Pro plans: from $9/month for Everfit Payments & Packages, and $10/month for Trainerize Stripe Integrated Payments (included on Trainerize Studio). Everfit's help centre publishes a US domestic card processing fee of 3.15% + $0.30 (4.65% + $0.30 international), while Trainerize connects to your Stripe account for card-only payments across 44 countries.

Which app do clients prefer, Everfit or Trainerize?

Clients focused on strength, conditioning, or athletic workouts rate Everfit's mobile app higher for speed, clean layout, WHOOP and Oura integrations, and six-language localisation. Clients at hybrid studios who book in-person classes, join live video calls, and buy session packs inside one app get more utility from Trainerize's calendar and studio tools.

Can you get a white-label app on Everfit or Trainerize?

Both platforms offer shared-app logo and colour theming on Pro plans (included on Everfit Pro, with a $75 one-off Advanced Custom Branding option; $169 one-off on Trainerize Pro). For a standalone white-label app published under your own name in the Apple App Store and Google Play, Trainerize includes a Studio Custom Branded App from $275/month on Studio Plus (plus Apple's $99/year and Google's $25 developer fees), whereas Everfit restricts store-listed white-label apps to custom-quoted Enterprise contracts starting at the 500-client Studio tier.
