Trainerize pricing in 30 seconds (2026)
Before you switch, know exactly what you're comparing against. Trainerize offers a free plan for 1 client and a 30-day free trial with unlimited clients. Paid plans start at $10/month (Grow, 2 clients) and $25/month (Pro, 5 clients), climbing to $250/month (Pro, 200 clients), then $275/month for Studio Plus. On Grow and Pro, payments ($10/mo), Advanced Nutrition ($20–$45/mo), video coaching ($10/mo) and a logo-branded app ($169 one-time) all cost extra as add-ons. One more thing worth knowing: Trainerize's newest prices apply to existing customers from 16 March 2026, so older comparison articles often quote outdated figures. Full details: Trainerize pricing breakdown.
Why coaches look for a Trainerize alternative
Trainerize is a capable, mature platform with a permanent free plan, and it says 400,000+ fitness professionals use it. But when coaches leave, they usually give one of these reasons:
- Add-on stacking. Trainerize's own 2026 alternatives article calls add-on pricing "typically the most common friction point". Its example 30-client coach pays $169/month once every add-on is included.
- Branding limits. The $169 Pro Branded App puts your logo and colours on the Trainerize app. Your own App Store and Google Play listing starts on Studio plans at $275/month.
- Per-seat jumps. Going from 15 to 30 clients takes you from $50 to $79/month, and Advanced Nutrition rises from $20 to $45.
- Learning curve and app stability. Trainerize's article admits the interface "carries a learning curve", and its July 2024 pricing note acknowledged app glitches and stability problems, which it said it was prioritizing. Competitors such as Hevy Coach and FitPros pitch themselves as simpler.
- Wanting a more online-coaching-focused tool. Trainerize also serves gyms and studios. Some solo online coaches find it broader than they need.
If none of these bother you, Trainerize may still be the right choice. If they do, here are the options.
How we compared these platforms
We compared each platform's published pricing and feature lists on its official website and help centre on 12 October 2026. We looked at five things: total monthly cost at 25 and 50 clients (including add-ons you'd realistically need), free plan or trial, nutrition tools, branded app options, and payment fees. We didn't take paid accounts out on every competitor. Test your shortlist during the free trials. Kahunas is our product. We've listed its limitations as plainly as everyone else's.

*TrueCoach Standard caps out at 20 clients ($69.98/mo), so 25 clients means moving to Pro. Monthly-billing prices are shown; annual billing is cheaper on most platforms. "—" means the vendor doesn't publish it clearly. Movement prices come from Movement's own Trainerize comparison page ("pricing correct as of July 2026").
1. Kahunas: best for online coaches who want to pay per client with everything included
Kahunas is built for online coaches. Training, nutrition, check-ins, payments and content all run in one client app that installs from your link, with your own logo and colour once you reach 200 clients. Kahunas says 15,000+ coaches use it. Trainerize's own 2026 alternatives roundup also lists Kahunas, describing it as a fit for "independent coaches who want a branded client experience with predictable flat pricing".
Pricing (checked 12 Oct 2026). Instead of plan tiers with client caps, you pay per client, and the rate drops as you grow. Kahunas bills whichever is cheaper: your clients at your rate, or the start of the next step down.
| Clients | Price per client per month | Example | What unlocks |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3–24 | $5.00 | 10 clients: $50/mo | Workouts, nutrition, check-ins and habits, messaging, payments, wearables, labs, AI insights |
| 25–49 | $2.50 | 25 clients: $62.50/mo | Automations, lead forms, recipes, roadmaps, Zapier and Make |
| 50–99 | $2.00 | 50 clients: $100/mo | Team members, Crew, screen recorder, priority support |
| 100–199 | $1.50 | 100 clients: $150/mo | Communities, challenges, education |
| 200–999 | $1.00 | 200 clients: $200/mo | Your logo and colour on the client app |
| 1,000+ | $0.50 | 1,000 clients: $500/mo | Everything |
Billing yearly takes 20% off, and the minimum is 3 clients. Because the price steps down, 13–24 clients cost the same $62.50 as 25.
Standout features
- Check-ins: custom weekly check-in and daily habit forms, compared side by side with the previous one, with numbers from your clients' wearables filled in for them.
- Nutrition: meal plans with over 1.5 million foods and barcode scanning, a calorie and macro calculator, and recipe books from 25 clients.
- Training: a workout builder with supersets, circuits and a rest timer, and 1,700+ exercise videos.
- Payments: sell packages through your own Stripe or PayPal, with plans assigned automatically at checkout. Kahunas takes 0% commission; your processor's standard fees apply.
- Automations (from 25 clients): lead forms, and automated emails, chat messages and push notifications.
Limitations
- No free plan. There's a 14-day trial, backed by a 3-month money-back guarantee.
- No App Store or Google Play listing under your name. The client app installs from your link, and your own logo and colour need 200 clients.
- Automations start at 25 clients, team members at 50.
- If you run lots of in-person classes or want built-in video calls, Trainerize, My PT Hub or Exercise.com list deeper class-booking and video tools.
Best for: online coaches who want payments, nutrition and check-ins included at every size, with a price that falls as their roster grows.
2. TrueCoach: best for simple, fast programming
TrueCoach gives you a clean, coach-friendly workout builder and a client experience that stays out of the way.
Pricing (monthly / annual equivalent): Starter $29.98 / $26.34 (5 clients), Standard $69.98 / $57.99 (20 clients), Pro $164.98 / $136.99 (50 clients). Over 50 clients is custom pricing. 14-day free trial, no card.
Strengths
- Drag-and-drop program builder, reusable templates and a 3,000+ exercise video library
- Built-in automated payments via Stripe on every plan, with no extra subscription fee
- Custom-branded fitness app, wearables (Apple, Garmin, WHOOP, Oura) and Zapier automations on higher tiers
- 90-day money-back guarantee for first-time annual subscribers
Limitations
- Payment fees are higher than standard Stripe. TrueCoach's help centre says each card transaction carries a flat 5% fee, calculated on the invoice total including tax, and refunds are charged too. TrueCoach Payments is only available to coaches with bank accounts in the US, UK, Australia and Canada. On $5,000/month of client payments (25 payments of $200) that's $250 in fees, versus about $153 at Stripe's standard US rate of 2.9% + 30¢.
- Nutrition tracking runs through a MyFitnessPal integration rather than a built-in food database
- Client caps are tight for the price (20 clients on Standard), and 25 clients means moving to the $164.98 Pro plan
Best for: strength and performance coaches who mostly deliver programming and don't need built-in meal plans.
3. Everfit: best free and low-cost starting point
Pricing: Starter is free forever for up to 5 clients. Pro starts at $19/month for 5 clients ($16 annual) and scales by client count: $29 for 10, $49 for 20, $75 for 35, $95 for 50, $140 for 100. Studio starts at $105/month for 50 clients. Enterprise is quote-based.
Paid add-ons: Autoflow automation (from $29/mo), Payments & Packages (from $9/mo), Meal Plans & Recipe Books (from $39/mo), On-Demand Collections (from $25/mo, included in Studio).
Strengths
- Generous free tier. Low per-client cost at scale.
- Forms and questionnaires, habit coaching, food journal and macro tracking, basic meal plans on Pro.
- Custom branding (logo and colours) on Pro and Studio. AI-drafted message replies.
Limitations
- Like Trainerize, the useful extras are add-ons. Payments, automation and full meal planning can add $77/month at monthly prices.
- A full white-label app (your own store listing) is Enterprise-only.
Best for: new coaches testing online coaching, and price-sensitive coaches with large rosters.
4. My PT Hub: best for unlimited clients and bookings
Pricing: Starter runs $25/month and covers 3 clients, 50 workouts, and 50 nutrition plans. Premium is $59/month for unlimited clients, and when we checked, My PT Hub was offering 50% off the first 2 months ($29.50/month). Ultimate sits at $215/month with every add-on included.
Add-ons: custom branded app $95 one-time (your icon and colours), white-label app store listing $145/month, Check-Ins AI $12/month, Zapier $19/month, extra trainers $10/month each.
Strengths
- Unlimited clients on Premium. A good deal once you pass 30–40 clients.
- 1-to-1 and group bookings, classes, live streams, automated check-ins and scheduled messaging.
- Stripe-powered packages. My PT Hub says it charges no commission on your sales (Stripe's fee still applies). 30-day free trial with no card.
Limitations
- Your own app store listing is expensive ($145/month add-on, or the $215 Ultimate plan).
- Starter is very limited at 3 clients. My PT Hub's Stripe integration doesn't support PayPal.
Best for: hybrid coaches who mix in-person sessions, classes and online clients.
5. PT Distinction: best "everything included" pricing
Pricing: Basic runs $19.90/month including 3 clients (+$6 per extra client), Pro is $59.90/month including 25 clients (+$2.40 per extra), and Master sits at $89.90/month including 50 clients (+$1.60 per extra). There's a 1-month free trial, and you can cancel in the first month and pay nothing.
Strengths
- Every plan includes the full feature set: AI program builder, nutrition coaching, AI meal planner, automated workflows, scheduled SMS/email, and selling packages and taking payments
- Custom branded iOS and Android apps on Pro and Master
- Simple monthly pricing with no minimum term
Limitations
- Per-client overage means the bill rises steadily as you grow
- The interface is feature-dense, so expect a learning curve
Best for: coaches who want maximum features per dollar and are comfortable configuring a deep tool.
6. HubFit: best mid-priced all-rounder
Pricing: Standard $39/month (up to 50 clients), Premium $69/month (up to 100 clients), Ultimate $119/month (100 clients, then per-client pricing up to 500). Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial.
Strengths
- Check-ins, habit coaching, an in-app nutrition tracker and a nutrition/macros planner come standard on every plan
- Premium adds custom branding, payments and packages, recipe books, a smart meal planner, and AI workout and meal drafting
- A fully white-labelled app in the App Store and Google Play is available as a $189/month add-on, listed alongside the Ultimate plan (HubFit quotes 7–10 days to go live, and says applications are open with limited launch spots)
Limitations
- Payments and branding need Premium ($69). Group chats, community forums, team members and Zapier need Ultimate ($119).
- The own-store app add-on ($189/month) costs more than most rivals' whole plans
Best for: coaches with 25–100 clients who want a low flat price and good nutrition tools, and don't need their own store listing.
7. Hevy Coach: best for strength coaches on a budget
Pricing: from $25/month for 1–10 clients, with higher tiers up to 1,000 clients. 30-day free trial, no card. Clients get a free Hevy Pro subscription.
Strengths
- Built for resistance training: set-by-set targets, RPE, set types (warm-up, drop set, failure) and automatic rest timers, according to Hevy's own Trainerize comparison
- Clients log in the popular Hevy workout app, with its social feed
- Coaching teams and a simple lead-generation form ("Grow")
Limitations
- Clients train in the Hevy app, not an app with your brand
- Hevy Coach's published feature list doesn't include nutrition tracking or client payments, so you'd need separate tools for those
Best for: strength coaches and PTs who mainly program lifting and want the simplest possible setup.
8. QuickCoach: best free option for small rosters
Pricing: free for up to 20 clients, with no per-client fees. A paid Pro plan adds a custom-branded client app, welcome email and printed plans, plus extra notifications. QuickCoach says it's now part of Hale Health and is used by 40,000+ coaches.
Strengths: a genuinely usable free tier. Simple plan building with YouTube/Vimeo videos, voice notes and habit tracking.
Limitations: we couldn't confirm built-in client payments or a food database on its site. It doesn't publish the Pro price on a pricing page we could reach. Check both before you commit.
Best for: new coaches with under 20 clients who want to start at $0.
9. Movement: best for courses and community alongside coaching
Movement is a branded-app builder for coaches and creators, and it leans hard into the course-and-community side of the business. On its own Trainerize comparison page, it lists a free plan (up to 100 active members), $49/month (up to 1,000 members), Pro white label at $99/month and Business at $299/month. It supports courses, audio, community feeds and forms alongside workouts, so it's built for coaches who run more than just a programming engine. One thing to flag: Movement's FAQ describes its apps as web apps that open from a link without the App Stores, so check that suits your clients if you want a native store listing.
Best for: coaches who sell courses, memberships and community as much as 1:1 programming.
10. Exercise.com: best for gyms and multi-service businesses
Exercise.com's official pricing page is quote-only. That's the first thing to know. It's an all-in-one platform selling custom-branded apps, scheduling, payments, multi-location management and done-for-you migration, all bundled together. Third-party directories list a starting price around $239/month, but Exercise.com doesn't publish that itself, so get a quote.
Best for: gyms, studios and larger coaching businesses that need memberships, staff management and an app in one system. For most solo online coaches, it's overkill. (Virtuagym, which Trainerize's roundup lists as quote-based, is a similar option for gym owners.)
Staying on Trainerize: when it's still the right call
Stay on Trainerize if you rely on its free plan, built-in video coaching, studio features such as classes and session packs, or the MindBody/ABC Glofox integrations (Studio plans and up). It's good value at around 100+ clients. Studio Plus ($275/month) includes every add-on and a Studio branded app.
Free Trainerize alternatives
| Platform | Free limit | What you give up |
|---|---|---|
| QuickCoach | 20 clients | Branding and some notifications (Pro plan) |
| Everfit | 5 clients, forever | Payments, automation and meal plans are paid add-ons |
| Trainerize Free | 1 client | Almost everything beyond basic programming |
| FitPros.io | FitPros says core tools are free with unlimited clients | Custom branding is a paid tier ($29/month per its comparison page) |
| Movement | 100 members | Native app store apps (it's a web app) |
Free tiers are great for testing demand. Once you charge clients, judge platforms on time saved per week and total cost at your target client count.
How to choose: a 60-second decision guide
| If you… | Shortlist |
|---|---|
| Have fewer than 20 clients and a $0 budget | QuickCoach, Everfit Free |

| Want the lowest flat price at 25–50 clients | HubFit Standard ($39), My PT Hub Premium ($59) |
| Want your own app in the App Store | PT Distinction (Pro $59.90+), My PT Hub ($145/mo add-on), HubFit ($189/mo add-on) |
| Mostly deliver strength programs | TrueCoach, Hevy Coach |
| Run in-person sessions + classes + online | My PT Hub, Trainerize, Exercise.com |
| Coach nutrition seriously | Kahunas (1.5m+ foods, barcode scanning), HubFit (meal planner on Premium), PT Distinction (AI meal planner), Everfit (meal plan add-on) |
| Want zero platform commission on client payments | Kahunas, My PT Hub (processor fees still apply) |
| Sell courses and community too | Movement |
Switching from Trainerize: a practical checklist
- Export your data first. Note active programs, client contact details, and recurring payments.
- Plan your billing cut-over. Trainerize cancels active recurring products when you cancel, so set up payments on the new platform before you switch.
- Rebuild your best 3–5 templates before inviting clients, not all 50.
- Move clients in batches, starting with the most engaged.
- Keep both for one billing cycle if you can, then cancel. Trainerize doesn't refund unused time, and cancelling drops you to the Free plan (1 client) and deactivates any Custom Branded App.
FAQ
What is the best alternative to Trainerize?
For online coaches who want payments, nutrition and check-ins included and a price that falls as they grow, Kahunas is a strong choice ($5 per client, down to $0.50). For simple programming, TrueCoach or Hevy Coach. For a free start, QuickCoach or Everfit. For unlimited clients with bookings, My PT Hub.
Is there a free alternative to Trainerize?
Yes. QuickCoach is free for up to 20 clients and Everfit's Starter plan is free forever for up to 5 clients. Trainerize's own free plan covers 1 client.
Which Trainerize alternative is cheapest?
For up to 20 clients, QuickCoach is free. At 25 clients, HubFit Standard ($39/month) and My PT Hub Premium ($59/month) are among the lowest flat prices we found, and Kahunas costs $62.50 with payments and nutrition included. At 50 clients, HubFit Standard ($39), My PT Hub Premium ($59) and Kahunas ($100) all cost less than Trainerize Pro 50 ($135 plus add-ons).
Which alternative gives me my own app in the App Store?
PT Distinction (Pro and Master), HubFit ($189/month add-on), My PT Hub ($145/month add-on or the Ultimate plan), Everfit Enterprise, and Exercise.com. On Apple you'll usually need your own Apple Developer account ($99/year). Kahunas works differently: its client app installs from your link with no store listing, and carries your own logo and colour from 200 clients.
Is TrueCoach better than Trainerize?
TrueCoach is simpler and includes payments on every plan, but its payments carry a 5% fee per card transaction. Trainerize has a free plan, more studio features and built-in meal tracking. Choose TrueCoach for programming-first coaching and Trainerize for hybrid or studio businesses.
Do these platforms take a cut of my client payments?
Kahunas and My PT Hub say they take no commission; you pay only Stripe's (or PayPal's, on Kahunas) standard processing fees. TrueCoach charges a flat 5% per card transaction through its Stripe-powered payments. Trainerize and Everfit charge a monthly add-on fee for payments instead.
The verdict
No single platform is best for everyone. Most coaches who leave Trainerize want simpler, more predictable pricing without stacking add-ons. If that's you, try Kahunas free for 14 days. You pay per client with payments, nutrition and check-ins included, there's no commission on Stripe or PayPal payments, and the 3-month money-back guarantee means you can move real clients across and decide with data.
