CoachRx monthly and annual plans (checked 5 November 2026)

CoachRx prices its software by active client band. Paying for a full year upfront saves about 15% on the base subscription.

Active client bandMonth-to-monthAnnual plan (per month)Cost per client at band floor (month-to-month)Cost per client at band cap (month-to-month)
1–5 clients$29/mo$25/mo ($300/yr)$29.00 (at 1 client)$5.80 (at 5 clients)
6–50 clients$79/mo$67/mo ($804/yr)$13.17 (at 6 clients)$1.58 (at 50 clients)
51–150 clients$199/mo$169/mo ($2,028/yr)$3.90 (at 51 clients)$1.33 (at 150 clients)
150+ clients (Enterprise)$249/mo + $1.25 per client over 150$212/mo* + $1.25 per client over 150$1.66 (at 151 clients, $250.25/mo)$1.56 (at 200 clients, $311.50/mo)

*CoachRx's pricing page rounds the Enterprise annual base rate to $212/month, while its Enterprise Plan help article lists the exact upfront charge as $2,539.80/year ($211.65/month). CoachRx charges the $1.25/month overage for each active client above the first 150 (160 active clients add 10 x $1.25 = $12.50/month) each month in arrears based on your peak active client count from the previous billing period, even when you pay the base plan by the year.

The tier-jump cliffs at client 6, client 51, and client 151

Wide client bands reward you at the top of a bracket and penalise you the day you cross into the next one:

  • Client 5 to client 6 (+$50/month): At 5 clients you pay $29/month ($5.80/client). Signing your 6th client moves you to the $79/month band, raising your average software cost to $13.17/client until your roster grows into the teens. On an annual plan, the same step runs from $25/month ($5.00/client) to $67/month ($11.17/client).
  • Client 35 to 50 (the sweet spot): Near the top of the second band, CoachRx becomes a strong bargain. Thirty-five to 50 active clients for $79/month works out to $2.26 down to $1.58 per client ($1.91 down to $1.34/client on an annual plan) with the full feature set included.
  • Client 50 to client 51 (+$120/month): Adding a 51st active client jumps your subscription from $79 to $199/month ($3.90/client), meaning client 51 costs you $120/month in extra software fees until you fill out the 51 to 150 tier.
  • Client 150 to client 151 (+$51.25/month): Moving onto Enterprise steps the base rate from $199 to $249/month plus $1.25 for client 151, bringing the bill to $250.25/month.

CoachRx prompts the account owner to confirm before upgrading a standard tier (unless new clients create accounts on their own through a Business Suite storefront), and prorates the difference for the rest of your cycle. Tier downgrades require a manual switch in Account Settings -> Plan and Billing; archiving clients lowers your active count without dropping your bill until you select the smaller plan yourself.

Free trial, archived clients, self-profiles, and pause rules

CoachRx does not offer a permanent free plan, though four billing rules keep your seat count clean:

  • 14-day free trial: New accounts get full platform access for 14 days. You enter a card at sign-up, and CoachRx charges it on day 15 for the band matching your active client count unless you cancel before then.
  • Archived clients cost $0: Archiving a former client removes them from your active workflow while preserving their assessment history, workout logs, notes, and messages for reactivation later. Active clients alone count toward your billing band.
  • Unlimited coaches and free self-profiles: CoachRx sets no cap on how many coaches you add to your organisation, and each active coach seat can keep one personal client profile (using a matching email address) outside your billable client count.
  • Pause option (1 to 3 months): Paid subscribers taking seasonal leave can pause from the cancellation flow instead of closing their account. Pausing stops CoachRx charges, preserves data without starting the 90-day post-cancellation deletion timer, puts client apps into read-only history mode, and pauses active Business Suite client subscriptions until your chosen resume date.

What CoachRx includes on all plans (and where it shines)

Built by OPEX Fitness, CoachRx unlocks its complete coaching and business toolkit from the $29/month starter band upward. Coaches researching a coachrx review choose it for five strengths:

  1. OPEX Individual Design calendar: Training sets, reps, tempo, and rest sit alongside nutrition targets and lifestyle prescriptions in one client calendar, backed by macro, meso, and micro cycle periodisation planning, 3,000+ movement demo videos, and 70+ OPEX program templates across both individual timelines and live cohort calendars.
  2. Body, Move, and Work assessments: Structural balance ratios, movement screens, custom metric sets, and consultation notes sit inside the client profile right beside the programming screen.
  3. RxBot AI assistant: Built into the client calendar, RxBot drafts multi-week strength and energy-systems blocks from your client's assessment notes, injury history, and training days so you can edit before assigning.
  4. Communication touchpoint tracking: Weekly check-ins, Loom video replies, voice notes, and a Monday-reset touchpoint counter show which clients across your roster or coaching team still need contact before the week ends.
  5. Complimentary transition assistance & US healthcare perks: CoachRx's team migrates client lists, exercise libraries, and program templates from TrueCoach, Trainerize, Everfit, or spreadsheets in 3 to 5 business days at no charge. US coaches also get partnerships with TrueMed (letting eligible clients with a Letter of Medical Necessity pay with pre-tax HSA/FSA funds, with the TrueMed letter discounted to $30 for CoachRx users) and FullScript for supplement dispensaries.

The 2% Business Suite payment fee: what it costs at scale

CoachRx includes its Business Suite (storefronts, recurring subscriptions, one-off packages, contracts, waivers, and coach payroll/commission tracking) on all plans with no monthly add-on charge, available in 40+ Stripe-supported countries.

Using Business Suite to collect payments is optional, and CoachRx charges 2% per successful transaction on top of your country's standard Stripe fee. CoachRx's official Fees article spells out the US card rate as 2.9% + $0.30 (Stripe) + 2% (CoachRx) = 4.9% + $0.30 per transaction, giving a worked example of 30 clients paying $300/month ($9,000 gross revenue) where total fees reach $450/month ($180 of which is CoachRx's 2% platform share).

Compare what comes out of your revenue each month at $200/month per client across CoachRx Business Suite (4.9% + $0.30), TrueCoach Payments (flat 5%), and a 0%-commission Stripe setup (2.9% + $0.30, as on Kahunas):

Paying clients (at $200/mo each)Gross revenue per monthStandard US Stripe (2.9% + $0.30, 0% platform fee)CoachRx Business Suite (4.9% + $0.30)TrueCoach Payments (5.0% flat)Extra 2% paid to CoachRx per month (and year)

25 clients$5,000$152.50$252.50$250.00+$100.00/mo ($1,200/yr)
50 clients$10,000$305.00$505.00$500.00+$200.00/mo ($2,400/yr)
100 clients$20,000$610.00$1,010.00$1,000.00+$400.00/mo ($4,800/yr)
200 clients$40,000$1,220.00$2,020.00$2,000.00+$800.00/mo ($9,600/yr)

At 50 paying clients billing $200/month, CoachRx's 2% platform fee adds $200/month ($2,400/year) on top of your $79 subscription. You can bypass that 2% fee by billing clients outside CoachRx in a standalone Stripe or PayPal account, though doing so gives up Storefront checkout, integrated contract signing at purchase, and unified revenue reporting. Note two Business Suite limits from CoachRx's help centre as well: CoachRx processes Stripe alone (no PayPal), and Storefront checkouts do not calculate or issue VAT/GST tax invoices for you.

Branding and nutrition limits to check before switching

Two product boundaries matter when comparing CoachRx against all-in-one coaching platforms:

1. Custom Theming vs your own branded app or store listing

CoachRx includes Custom Theming on all plans: organisation owners and super admins can set a hex brand colour, curated typography, logo, custom splash screen, and motivational quotes inside the shared CoachRx mobile app. Clients still download and log into the CoachRx app from the App Store or Google Play rather than an app under your own brand name or custom web domain.

Coaches who want their own brand on a client's home screen have two other routes, detailed in our white-label fitness app guide. Store-listed white-label apps put your studio name in the App Store and Google Play search results; before building our current platform, we published over 10,000 white-label coaching apps to the App Store and Google Play, and a dedicated store listing remains a strong credibility signal for established fitness brands, though it runs $59.90 to $275+/month in software costs plus a $99/year Apple Developer membership and app review wait times. Branded coaching web apps (like Kahunas from 200 seats, $200/month) install from your own link and custom domain in three taps with your home-screen icon, colours, and instant updates, with zero store fees.

2. Macro prescriptions and tracker sync vs built-in meal planning

CoachRx includes a macro calculator, daily nutrition and hydration targets on the Lifestyle calendar, and background calorie/macro rollups synced from Cronometer, MyFitnessPal, FatSecret, MacrosFirst, and MyMacros+. As CoachRx's MyMacros+ integration guide confirms, synced trackers send daily calorie and macro totals rather than individual meal logs or food photos.

If your coaching relies on clients logging meals inside one app, scanning supermarket barcodes, swapping recipes, following structured supplement schedules, or uploading blood panels, CoachRx requires external apps. Platforms in our nutrition coaching apps comparison such as Kahunas include a 1.5 million+ verified food database with barcode scanning, structured meal plans, recipe books (from 25 seats), supplement plans, and AI blood work Labs in the same client app.

Real monthly cost: CoachRx vs TrueCoach vs Trainerize vs Everfit vs Kahunas

Comparing month-to-month USD rates across 5, 25, 50, 100, and 200 active clients shows software subscriptions, nutrition add-ons, and platform payment fees above standard Stripe (assuming $200/month coaching packages). Standard Stripe processing fees apply across all platforms and stay outside these figures:

CoachRx vs TrueCoach: which one wins for strength coaches?

Coaches searching coachrx vs truecoach are comparing two programming-first tools with external macro sync:

  • At 1 to 20 clients: Pricing stays close. Up to 5 clients costs $29/month on CoachRx vs $29.98 on TrueCoach Starter. Between 6 and 20 clients, TrueCoach Standard ($69.98/month) saves $9.02/month on base software compared with CoachRx ($79/month).
  • At 21 to 50 clients: CoachRx wins by a wide margin. Crossing 20 clients forces TrueCoach users onto Pro at $164.98/month, whereas CoachRx stays at $79/month up to 50 clients (saving $85.98/month on software).
  • On client payments: CoachRx's 4.9% + $0.30 US card rate and TrueCoach's flat 5% rate fall within $0.50 to $5.00 of each other on $200 packages ($50.50 vs $50.00 at 5 clients; $252.50 vs $250.00 at 25 clients; $505.00 vs $500.00 at 50 clients), though CoachRx supports Stripe in 40+ countries while TrueCoach restricts built-in billing to the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. CoachRx also includes RxBot AI, periodisation planning, contracts/waivers, and unlimited team coaches on all tiers.

Where Kahunas fits (our product)

Disclosure: Kahunas is our product.

  • Where CoachRx beats Kahunas (our honest limits): Between 32 and 50 active clients (and 133 to 150 clients) when you take payments outside the app, CoachRx's flat subscription ($79/month at 40 to 50 clients vs $100/month on Kahunas; $199/month at 140 to 150 vs $200/month) costs less on base software. CoachRx includes Custom Theming, RxBot AI, waivers/contracts, and unlimited assistant coach logins on its $29/month starter tier, whereas Kahunas gates Automations and Recipes to 25 seats, Team Hub (where non-archived team members also use a seat) and Crew AI to 50 seats, Communities, Education, and Challenges to 100 seats, and custom Branded App theming and Custom Domains to 200 seats. CoachRx also offers native App Store and Google Play downloads, a larger stock movement library (3,000+ vs 1,700+ videos), and built-in US TrueMed HSA/FSA and FullScript integrations absent from Kahunas, while Kahunas delivers a 3-tap client web app.

FAQ

How much does CoachRx cost per month in 2026?

On month-to-month billing, CoachRx costs $29/month for 1 to 5 active clients, $79/month for 6 to 50 clients, $199/month for 51 to 150 clients, and $249/month plus $1.25 per active client above 150 on Enterprise. Paying for an annual plan upfront lowers the base tiers to $25/month, $67/month, $169/month, and about $212/month ($2,539.80/year), while the $1.25 per-client Enterprise overage above 150 bills each month.

Does CoachRx charge a transaction fee on client payments?

Yes, if you use CoachRx Business Suite to process payments. Business Suite has no monthly add-on charge, and CoachRx adds a 2% platform fee on top of your country's standard Stripe rate for each successful charge (totalling 4.9% + $0.30 per US card transaction). Business Suite remains optional, so coaches can bill outside CoachRx to avoid the 2% fee.

Do archived clients or assistant coaches cost extra on CoachRx?

No. Archived clients do not count toward your active client limit, and CoachRx retains their workout, assessment, and message history if you reactivate them later (note that you must select a lower plan in billing settings yourself if archiving drops you into a cheaper band). CoachRx also allows unlimited team coaches per organisation at no extra seat charge, plus one free self-client profile per coach.

Does CoachRx have a built-in food database and meal planner?

CoachRx lets coaches prescribe calorie, macro, hydration, and lifestyle habits on the client calendar and syncs daily calorie and macro totals from Cronometer, MyFitnessPal, FatSecret, MacrosFirst, and MyMacros+. It does not include an in-app barcode food logger, recipe database, or structured meal-swap builder.

What is the best CoachRx alternative if you coach workouts and nutrition together?

For coaches who want individualised training alongside a built-in 1.5M+ food database, barcode scanner, recipes, blood lab tracking, and 0%-commission Stripe and PayPal billing, Kahunas (our product) starts from $15/month (3 seats) and costs $62.50/month at 25 seats or $100/month at 50 seats. Compare more options in our best online coaching platforms guide.

Bottom line

CoachRx stands out for OPEX-style individual design, movement assessments, and rosters sitting near the 35 to 50 client sweet spot at $79/month, provided you bill clients outside the app or factor the 2% Business Suite fee into your prices. Once you cross 50 clients ($199/month), process $10,000+/month through in-app Stripe checkouts, or want clients logging food, barcodes, and blood work in the same app as their workouts, the combined software and transaction bill climbs fast. Start a 14-day free Kahunas trial (backed by a 3-month money-back guarantee) to test workouts, full nutrition, check-ins, and 0%-commission payments in one place.
