The goal of youth S&C sessions is to develop a solid base of strength by beginning with unweighted motions and moving on to resistance training. Exercises for resistance training can be done with bands, kettlebells, dumbbells, and starter barbells.
A strong premium is placed on improving good mechanics, core strength, balance, and shoulder stability. Depending on the athlete's level of training, they may advance to learning additional compound lifts, such as the squat, using resistance that is safe for their skill level.
